About Me.
First and foremost, Abby Donaldson is an artist. A storyteller. She prides herself on her ability to craft a story out of anything. She accomplishes this well; this ability to move people emotionally, to inspire people with her art. She enjoys the process just as much as sharing her craft with the world. She is a creative mastermind behind videography, songwriting, video editing, photography, music production- just to name a few.
My Expertise.
Abby Donaldson has a Bachelor's degree in Television, Film, and New Media Production from San Diego State University. There, she honed in on all things film, specifically interested in cinematography, editing, sound design, and directing. Since a young age, Abby has always held a camera, fascinated with turning the lens into her eye and capturing the beauty she saw. With the power of her editing, she can transform any footage into a work of art that is moving, impactful, and inspiring. Not only freelancing and working on personal projects, Abby has experience shooting for various companies, especially in the music world. She has shot live concerts, live sets, music videos, album art, and band photoshoots. She was the in-house videographer and creative director at a music studio in San Diego and was a founding member of a production company.
Abby has been creating music for majority of her life. She started writing songs when she was very young, which became a constant throughout the years. Being a multi-instrumentalist, she is able to craft her music into art that pleases the ears. Abby spent her elementary, middle, high school, and collegiate years playing in ensembles like concert, marching, and pep bands. She takes this classical background and infuses it into her songwriting as a blend of melodic phrases, counter melodies, and sweet harmonies that tie together for a lively arrangement. She sharpened her skills by taking multiple music classes in college and spending time working at a music studio, where she got hands on experience in music production. She took this knowledge and now fully produces, writes, and composes her own music.
